In December of 2008 Brian Hartenstein and family left America for an adventurous life overseas to live and work throughout Asia, raising three daughters with a sense of wonder and awe at the possibility of the world. It is now 2016 and the adventure continues back home in Oregon. This blog remains as a time capsule to that period. Thank you so much to all our friends around the world. Please stay in touch. We miss you all!

Oh yes... we'll get to London in a while, as the Olympics approach, all eyes are upon the city...but after almost a month of backpacking, I'm ready to be getting back to my girls. Here's what I will be bringing back for them...Heather wrapped in a silk ribbon from the moors of Durness, the most northern tip of Scotland, Four Leaf Clovers pressed in a book of poems by Galway Kinnel plucked from a field outside Limerick, Ireland, and a handful of sand in a mason jar scooped from the seashores of Mumbles, Wales... So please keep reading, and go on this journey with me.
