In December of 2008 Brian Hartenstein and family left America for an adventurous life overseas to live and work throughout Asia, raising three daughters with a sense of wonder and awe at the possibility of the world. It is now 2016 and the adventure continues back home in Oregon. This blog remains as a time capsule to that period. Thank you so much to all our friends around the world. Please stay in touch. We miss you all!

In Kyoto, the girls dressed up in Kimonos and of course, madness ensued.
After an almost 90 minute fitting, including hair, we headed out to the tea houses for some pictures.
I would say the kids handled it swimmingly.
It was very cold and they could barely move their legs.
But we walked along the canal and didn't complain.
Even Kinu, who I could tell by the end was nothing having it!
But rallied with big sisters help.
Post Office. Thanks Girls. Now, let's go get some hot chocolate.
